MCMS Alliance Enjoys Variety of Activities

NEXT UPCOMING EVENT: Plan to attend the “Reed Diffuser and Essential Oils” workshop on Thursday, June 19, from 1:00-3:00 pm at Cedar Ridge Trails, 5388 Medlar Road, Miamisburg OH 45342. “You will get to create your own custom blend of essential oils to incorporate into a dried floral and reed diffuser.” Then you will “design your own beautiful room diffuser using an arrangement of stunning dried florals and reeds in a glass jar.” Your diffuser will look wonderful anywhere in your home or office and will “provide a lasting scent to remind you of your experience on the lavender farm.” Cost: $40. Please RSVP to Jeanie Kupper by June 12, 2025.

On April 30th, our Greek Cooking class was held at Angela Dunaway’s home. Connie Yorgen (expert Greek cook and previous chair of the Dayton Greek Festival) demonstrated how to make Spanakopita (Greek Spinach Pie). We had this for our lunch, which also included Greek appetizers and bread (thank you Angela Dunaway!), Greek salad (thank you Kalp Shah!), and Rice salad (thank you Manju Gupta!). At the end of our program, everyone took home “Goodie Bags”, which included the recipe for the Spanakopita, Greek Spice Rub, and a box of Connie’s Baklava. We had a great turnout for this program and you can view photos below.

On Wednesday, May 14th, our Ikebana class was held at the Oakwood Library’s Community Room. Our own MCMSA member Mayumi Hall (assisted by her Ikebana instructor Lynn) taught us all the art of Japanese flower arranging. We had another great turnout for this “hands on” program, which included several of our members and their guests. See a few photos from the class as well. 

Jeanie Kupper will be holding a planning meeting this summer to plan for the 2025 – 2026 year. I any of you have ideas for programs for next year, or want to be more involved in MCMSA, please let her know. All spouses and partners of physicians are welcome to join the Alliance. This organization supports community health and provides scholarship support for those involved in the healthcare education pathway.
