MCMS Fall Physician Forum
Provided by MCMS Administration
The Montgomery County Medical Society will bring physicians together on Thursday, September 10, 2026, for the MCMS Fall Physician Forum, an evening focused on the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in medicine and the enduring importance of humanity in patient care.
The program will feature David Cha, MD, along with keynote speaker Bobby Mukkamala, MD, Immediate Past President of the American Medical Association.
The Physician’s AI Playbook: Evaluate It, Use It, Own It will offer physicians a practical, clinically grounded look at how AI is already influencing patient care, documentation, workflows, and medical decision-making.
David Cha, MD, Associate Chief Medical Information Officer at Premier Health, will help physicians move beyond the hype and develop a more structured approach to evaluating and using AI tools in clinical practice. Attendees will explore the limitations of current AI technology, the questions physicians should ask before adopting new tools, and the importance of maintaining active clinical oversight whenever AI-generated information is used to support patient care.
MCMS is also honored to welcome Bobby Mukkamala, MD, who will present Lessons From Both Sides of the Exam Room: Preserving Humanity in Modern Medicine.
Drawing from his experience on both sides of the exam room, following his diagnosis and treatment for a brain tumor, Dr. Mukkamala will share how seeing the health care system from the patient’s perspective reshaped his understanding of medicine. His keynote will explore the importance of trust, empathy, and the physician-patient relationship while reflecting on physician resilience, professional fulfillment, leadership, and the role of organized medicine in supporting both physicians and the communities they serve.
Together, the presentations will examine not only how physicians can use emerging technology responsibly, but also how medicine can continue to preserve the human connection at the center of care.
The evening will include CME education, dinner, networking, and opportunities to connect with physicians from across the region.
